About your astrologer
I am Florence Devereux and have been practicing astrology for the past 8 years. I am a House 12 Capricorn Sun conjunct Uranus and Neptune, and a Scorpio Moon conjunct Pluto, with plenty of Aquarius, Cancer and Sagittarius energy. I hope that these archetypes blend to create an astrology practice that is at once safe (hello Jupiter and Chiron in Cancer,) playful (Sagittarius,) rigerous (Capricorn,) cosmic (House 12 Sun conjunct Neptune and Uranus,) deep and transformative (Scorpio,) and provocative and future orientated too (Aquarius!)
Training
My undergraduate was in Philosophy and Comparative Religions at the University of Edinburgh. I did a Masters in Environmental Philosophy and Ethics.
These interests led to me astrology, as it is a living breathing, tool that reflects the cosmologies of connection that I am interested in. I work with astrology for spiritual/poetic, pychological, political and ethical reasons.
My initial astrological training was in the Huber Method, a type of astrological psychology that was developed by astrologers/psychologists Bruno and Louise Huber, working with Roberto Assagioli, the founder of the Transpersonal Psychology known as Psychosynthesis.
I am currently in the middle of a two year training in Evolutionary Astrology, to compliment my past training and shed new light on the chart and this ancient practice. This school of astrology focuses on the soul and it’s evolutionary development. There is more of a focus on past lives and the tools we have for karmic growth.
I am certified by the Society of Analytical Pschology for a foundation in Analytical Pschology, and have a keen interest in esoteric teaching from different traditions around the world.
I blend these perspective to create a holistic approach to the psyche, where the needs of the personal ego are honoured and an understanding of our shadow selves integrated, so the higher purposes of the Self can come through, creating a life of meaning and peace. Book a session
